try poi with steak, hot dog, corned beef, etc

the way to get that smoke taste in the kalua pig (if you can't cook it underground) is to add liquid smoke...mesquite flavor...that's the local way...and the leaves for the lau lau is the taro leaves, for which the root of the taro leaves are pounded to make poi.
