New Modern PREFAB HOMES with Sustainable Features

Modern prefab homes are one way companies are trying to improve housing affordability in North America. I've noticed the popularity of prefab homes increasing lately and it's lead to new companies entering the market to meet the demand for buyers. A lot of these newer companies are located in California which shouldn't be a surprise because it's an area that needs more affordable options. One way people are attempting to increase affordability is with Accessory Dwelling Units for multigenerational living, rental income or even just extra space instead of buying a bigger home. One company bringing two new ADU options to the San Francisco Bay Area is a company called Spacial Homes. I like their full-service way of doing business. I want to relocate from Idaho back to New York state where I'm from but figuring out all the logistics of such a move is daunting to say the least. Having them handle all those details would be a definite advantage...if only their models were available on the East coast.

Kerry, you did it again. Great find. I think they are affordable given those prices INCLUDE what they do...that's a substantial added cost otherwise isn't it? (and time). I do wonder about the quality and stability of structure ...through winds, fire, quakes etc. Maybe you covered it or that can be got online..so i will check. I LOVE your new background ...in video. I think it compliments your own appearance as well.

Really nice options Kerry ~ love the murphy bed and overall use of space. In respect to zoning, in most places we are more likely to see subtle changes that are mere compromises to the existing laws. Possible causes may include push-back by those who's property values could be diminished if rapid/drastic changes were made. But some places will likely adopt a more full acceptance of smaller homes ~ rural areas will likely be first in line here as there less factions to fight it.

This company seems quite viable. Love the "full-service" component. I want to put one on my property in California, but I live in Oklahoma. If they could actually handle all the prep, permits, et al, it would be so much easier on me. Keeping them in mind.

Hey Kerry, another great video & an interesting manufacturer. One thing though: how about mentioning the materials the homes are constructed from and the source of those materials? I recall the Chinese drywall fiasco and the formaldehyde problem with new mobile homes.

I think there's a disconnect here on how "home" is defined. Most people are looking to buy a home. The problem with ADUs is that you need to already own a home. So with ADUs, you're not looking for a home, you're looking to increase the amount of home you have.
