Rabbi Shlomo Yitzchaki, known today almost universally by the acronym – Rashi, was a medieval French rabbi and author of a comprehensive commentary on the TaNaK and the Talmud. He is one of the most influential Sages, not only of the Jewish world, but the world at large. His writings are the most frequently published and studied works in the whole world next to the Bible itself.

Great video. I wish we had more stories about Rashi’s life. He saved the Torah and Gemara for all generations after him.

Rashi is claimed to be Ashkenazi. However, emperor Charlemagne invited Jews from Babylon to his empire (France/Germany). Therefore Rashi would have been mizrachi?

On all that lives, you have not highlighted the Hebrew ומכל החי (and from all that lives). If we read “from all that lives, from all flesh”, does that not mean NOT including demons??

Sadly, I believe Rashi was a heretic.
