The Midwest was hit some really harsh winter weather right around the time I was supposed to come home from New York. Because of the severe conditions, I was able to adjust my flights to come back after the worst of the snow had passed. Chicago itself was experiencing sub-zero temperatures, hence the nickname "Chi-beria".

This was my first flight on American's Airbus A319, flying one of the legacy US Airways planes from Washington Reagan to Chicago O'Hare.

My brother was in Washington, DC that weekend too but he flew on United into Dulles! He was delayed 2hrs on the ORD-IAD route on January 13th and delayed 3hrs on the IAD-ORD route on January 15th. Good trip report by the way, man!

9:08 That turbulence is giving me flashbacks to when I flew from Lahore to Dubai on Emirates Boeing 777-300ER back in February 2017. The flight was subject to severe turbulence over Balochistan.

I was shocked to see you not only flew over Plymouth, Indiana, but that you included it in the video. It was fun finding landmarks, and eventually the place I grew up, and where my dad still lives today. Thanks!

I really enjoy your interesting and informative trip reports!!! This one was really unique in the bitter cold. I enjoyed seeing the planes after you landed at ORD. Go Illini!!!

Great trip report as usual! Slight correction however, BWI is considered the busiest of the three DC airports, with 27.1 million served each year.

Nice video! I also flew an AA A319 into Chicago, one day after this video was taken! And yes, the cold in Chicago was not fun at all

Enjoy your reports. DCA is such a unique place. The American gates are luxurious compared to the Southwest area down in Terminal 1. There are 9 gates and3 airlines all in 1 room, with only 1 set of bathrooms and very few amenities. It's a mess!

That's cold! Also having second thoughts about trying to reach Sapphire again; Ruby status has been working for me just fine except w/o domestic lounge status. I know Admiral's Clubs are mediocre but is having access to Flagships at ORD and DFW worth going through the hurdles of getting Sapphire? Hmmm....

There is one ex-Frontier A319 with the newer seats and leather bulkheads from Oasis but still has smaller bins

Great video! Just one question, why didn't you just do a straight shot from HPN to ORD?

Great video, even if I'm biased as I fly for American lol

Now there are rumors that the Sharklet A319s will get Oasis and the rest will be retired

3:11 you got an A319-114 A319-111 former US Airways version the better version it's actually the A319-115s due to them having Winglets. If they want the same that currently fly on A319-114s A319-111s might as well order A319-153Ns to finish off the old A319-114s A319-131s and A319-111s. Leaving the newer A319-115Wls to stay eventually finished off by Max 7s. I wonder how would United Airlines get rid of their older B737-724s A319-131s? Same possible path as AA A319-153Ns commonality with the max Fleet Leap-X or A319-171Ns PW1100Gs like the A321-271Ns

I flew out 5 days earlier (it was supposed to be 6)

AA better replace these older A319s with the MAX7. I know it’s not looking good for the MAX7, but because AA strong-armed Boeing into re-engining the 737 instead of making a clean-sheet, AA needs to live with that fact and act accordingly by ordering more MAXes

I'm sorry but isn't Baltimore Washington the busiest airport in the region?

I seriously wish that you among many other people would stop overreacting to cold weather in Chicago; and STOP calling us CHIBERIA. Here's a simple fact of life; It gets COLD in the Winter. Period.
