I don't condone racism of any sort and anti-asian hate is to be addressed immediately. But I direct this to the Korean government, that it is hurtful, if not downright hypocritical to talk about anti-asian hate globally, when there just was a mandatory order for testing in the Seoul and Gyeonggi-do regions, put into place by Seoul City officials, knowing full well that those that were going to be majorly affected were ASEAN minorities who make up most of the factory workers. That it had to be complaints from UK and US embassies for the policy to be revised adds even more insult to injury. Charity begins at home.

I'm well aware that there was criticism within the ruling party about this incident, which gives me some hope. I'm also positive that even Koreans in general fully realise that there can't be two weights two measures. So that the second vice Foreign Minister makes a statement about anti-asian hate globally, without a sense of awareness of what just happened in Seoul, is senseless, hurtful and short-sighted.

Thankfully, I'm learning not to be angry because being angry won't help in fighting racism in any shape or form. And finally, Jane Elliott said it best, "there's only one race, the human race". Racism is taught and it's high time we unlearn it.
