Northeast flooding washes away cars, collapses roads

A string of dangerous thunderstorms slammed the Northeast over the weekend, washing away cars and collapsing roadways with some areas seeing eight inches of rain — and 27million people are under still flood alerts stretching from Eastern New York to New Hampshire. NBC’s Emilie Ikeda reports and Al Roker tracks the latest forecast for TODAY.

You'd think they'd build higher regions in the lowlands so that people 100's of 1, 000's of dollars in vehicles would be safe when situations like this happens. No good person wants to buy a flood damaged lemon car. True, they can part them out, but too many perfectly fantastic vehicles get totalled in situations like this when it's unnecessary. As for people dying, my condolences go out to their families.

Edit: There's gotta be a way to save all those vehicles and life's when disasters are potentially expected.
