But there's loads of money to go around - they're spending over £5 million a day on housing illegal immigrants

That Rishi is a multi millionaire - he won't be cold in winter, his belly will always be full. These politicians have no idea how the average person survives

STOP calling this £200 a rebate. It is not a rebate. It is an unsolicited loan being forced onto poor households. It is to be paid back over 5 years at £40 per year by all who get it.

The UK could be self sufficient in energy. Who resisted fracking for gas?

This does not sound like good economics when you have to give taxpayers money back after increasing unjustified taxes.

Just add cheap electricity to the grid. Coal is wonderful. CO2 is not pollution. There is no climate crisis.

Man, did anyone else notice Hancock mesmerised by Esther Mcvay?
What an absolute creep, he should be locked up for the safety of women and the country.

I sometimes wonder what all the climate change lecturers will say when thousands are freezing.. When will they realise that we need to be able to afford to heat our homes.. Climate change taxes already on our bills need to be removed.. The UK needs somehow, to be less reliant on foreign suppliers...

It's important to remember this isn't a political story. A long while ago Western countries decided to work towards net zero. That has resulted in many countries stripping out Coal, lignite and nuclear (Germany post Fukushima) out of their supply stacks. They made their bet on Gas fired generation filling the hole via global LNG projects coming online. They miscalculated that China, Japan and Korea need these supplies too in large quantities. Demand destruction wrought by Covid has paused work and has been unable to respond to increased demand as things get back to normal. If you want to blame anything on this blame the cult-like following of Net Zero by governments and corporations. The end result will be ordinary people having to pay potentially 3x as much on their energy needs. Please don't underestimate how expensive a policy like net zero will be.

The rich will be able to spend money to adapt their lifestyles to net zero (while salving their conscious), however how are ordinary people supposed to help fund the hugely expensive infrastructure changes required if we move towards hydrogen for example? (Which will be more than a decade away anyway). Even if the government of the time have to fund this it will be passed on through higher taxation in any case, so we all pay eventually.
