Amsoil Signature Series 5w30 vs Amsoil OE 5w30. We owe it to Amsoil since it won this tournament to test Amsoil OE vs Boosted vs Signature Series. All 5w30. Nobody else is testing them head to head against each other. Thanks Nate

I have used mobile 1 synthetic in all my vehicles for the past 15 years, no problems in any of them for thousands of miles ! I'm sold !

Used Mobil 1 for 10 years plus. It’s OK oil. Just recently used Amsoil OE and noticed significant difference. Both oils will keep your engine running for at least 200K miles is my take on it. Just change your oil often and oil issues will be minimized, even if the engine is oil burning with bad piston heads from Toyota.

I have used both brands for many many years. I bet that Mobil 1 burns off way faster than the Amsoil. Both are great oils, but Amsoil is definitely a different beast and I prefer the viscosity

Technically, the amsoil bearing was very close to 0.581 that's why it bounced around 0.581 & 0.580 until it settled and barely squeaked in to 0.580 vs Mobil 1's bearing which settled on 0.58 instantly. This suggests that the Mobil 1's bearing was likely at the bottom end of 0.58 and the amsoil bearing is at the top end of 0.58. So really, they are equal for wear protection and mobil 1 wins the pour. Over all, Mobil 1 is the true winner in your tests here.

Excuse me but Mobil1 runs faster inside the engine that protects better. The 80% of the damage is at cold start running engines.

Great Test as always but I’m staying with Mobil 1...the flow test says enough for me the bearing test separated only by 1 gram so still very pleased with that too almost to close to call.

10W40 competition would be good - AMSOIL AMO Premium 10W40 vs Castrol 10w40 vs Mobil1 10W40

Not bad for Mobil 1 still 2nd place . Also it’s readily available every where . So it’s more convenient to pick up.

And that was only amsoil O.E. series. Imagine the signature series! 😎 Nice job man! Amsoil all the way!

Awesome videos! Personally I'd like to see comparisons on high performance marine oil. I just recently switched to Amsoil products. Standard marine oil is 25w-40... i service boats with engines that range from 500hp to 900hp and they run 5k-6k rpm for extended periods of time, some times around 20 minutes or more... the standard go to oil has been valvoline VR1 20w-50 synthetic race oil backed up with Lucas oil stabilizer. Some guys run straight sae 50. I'm going to give the amsoil marine a shot with no additive and see how it holds up in my personal boat which runs twin BBC's. Again thank you for these comparisons, truly shows what a great product they provide.

Many years ago when in the car trade in the UK I was offered a million mile test bed run BMW 325i run on Mobil and changed at correct mileages. They found almost zero wear when the engine was stripped and closely inspected. BMW E90 M3 V8 and I believe E46 M3 engines suffer cold start rod bearing deterioration. Flow test here might be the key advantage.

You missed a very important issue by fully coating the bearing in oil before the wear test.
Most wear occurs at start up, so how fast an oil gets thru an engine determines how little damage the engine receives. The Mobil 1 obliterated the Amsoil in the flow test, so MUCH less damage would occur with Mobil 1 in the real world.

I decided to purchase Mobil 1 for my GT40. Have had decades of trouble free engine reliability using Mobil 1.

My buddies motor blew up early on using Amsoil, my motor continues on 21 years later using K&N filters and Mobile one 300k miles burns zero oil. I put it in everything on my farm and have not had a failure yet. I have a push mower over 20 years old still going strong.

I'm not as concerned with what you test, so much with HOW you test. I live in Minnesota, and it can sometimes get to -20 or -30. Oil runs thick at that temperature. I would like to know which oils have the best wear resistance and flow capacity in those types of conditions.

This was a great series, Nate. I thought Mobil 1 was going to win after that first flow test. Guess that Amsoil is all it’s cracked up to be. Can’t wait for the next series.

Amsoil oil has proven its durability and engine protection. It is an excellent oil and I trust this company
In the Gulf countries, the temperature is high in the summer, so many people use 10-40 Amsoil oil instead of 5-30 on GMC cars, and the difference between them is simple.

Pshh. Amsoil is indeed good oil. However, not readily available at stores here in the USA. Plus the price is like triple vs the competition. I'll take Pennzoil or Mobil 1 any oil change day!!!
