China Denies Allegations of Forced Labor in Xinjiang as an 'Enormous Lie’

China's foreign ministry said that the allegation of forced labour in its Xinjiang region is an "enormous lie" aimed at smearing China, and is the very opposite of the facts. Ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin's comments came after the United States restricted imports from three more Chinese companies on Tuesday (September 26) in a bid to eliminate goods it says involve the forced labour of Uyghur minorities from the U.S. supply chain.

I was in a nonprpductive twitter conversation with some china worshippers and tankies yesterday. I'm looking for the truth about their cotton industry, as they purport that china has improved their cotton farming with having people operate machinery. While cotton harvesting combines, balers and tractors might be less back breaking than gatherking it by hand, how many hours are the farmers operating the combines? Do they get decent pay for their work? They described the Uyghur camps as xvocational schools" which tbh i think is sort of better for prisoners to be learning things than just sitting around, but prison labor with little to no pay is still slavery or basically a fancier gulag setting. These other questions were not answered.
