Hi Mike, I'm ever so grateful for your diligent work and I've been blessed by it so many times.
Although I'm not through with this lecture I must comment on something before I forget it.
As I read through hesekiel the last week, when I entered chapter 40, I made a connection between verse 1 and 4. It states clearly in verse 4 that hesekiel had been brought to this site on purpose? That is to tell his people every detail he had seen (including the measurement). What for? In verse one a definite time is given when this occurred: in the 25year of exile, that is 45 years before their departure. Both facts only make sense in one way: there will be a new temple - and I'm gonna tell you now how it should look like. You'll have enough time to prepare and to plan.
So I was quite irritated when the discussion turned immediately to some eschatological temple in our future!? How come?
Your concept of "already, but not yet" is what I always interpreted as two or more slides on top of each other. You see one picture (one theme) but it describes events in different times. The same here. Some of the descriptions i.e. the water/river flowing from the temple, the trees and their fruits resemble revelation, where the river starts from under god's throne and the tree of life has fruits every month, for the healing of the nations - as in hesekiel.
In revelation it's Jerusalem (a square with no temple) in hesekiel it's the temple (a square). So why not both: to build the second temple and imagery for the last temple on earth-gods presence among his people - already, but not yet.

Note how in verse 24 of chapter 34 it doesn't say King David or Line of David/Son of David, it specifically says simply "David."

Gog is also mentioned in Amos 7:1, LXX, a king to a certain breed of locust. I suspect that Abaddon and Gog are Satan's chief lieutenants. Not that it changes anything just interesting to find Gog referenced in the LXX in Amos.

I am no scholar but even Satan is referred to as both a lion and a dragon, it seems odd to me that this would be perceived as such a conundrum .

Some additional perspective Michael didn't cover is before the battle of Armageddon, fire and earthquakes will occur. And when Jesus returns and slaughters evil, the birds gorge themselves (Rev 19). So if chapters 38-39 are pre 1000 year reign, then this temple would be during Jesus' reign. That would mean Jesus will construct it, that is why we don't have instructions. It is thought the temple will be for worship/honor and not sacrifice. And the old testament says all the nations will come to Zion to worship and bring gifts to the Lord. Perhaps this temple is where they will meet and deliver gifts?
