Shruthi Kumar, the Harvard senior selected to deliver the English address during their commencement ceremony, blasted the Ivy League school for not allowing more than a dozen students to receive their diplomas.

“I am deeply disappointed by the intolerance for freedom of speech and their right to civil disobedience on campus,” she said.

The students had taken part in an anti-Israel campus encampment at the university.

More than 1,000 people then staged a walkout to decry the disqualification of the 13 students, with many chanting “let them walk,” The Harvard Crimson reports.

As a university professor myself, I am really proud of this young graduate. When I listen to her I am also hopeful about the future.

The problem is that they have only rights without any duties of liberty and humanity

New York Post I pity you! Her speech and the whole ceremony was amazing! These future leaders have still some humanity in them unlike you. You have nothing to say but attack this beautiful and gentle person. That says a lot about you. Shame on you New York Post!

It's funny when people talk about freedom of speech and expression, infact all the countries with religious monopoly, Iran, Iraq, Saudi, Yemen, Afghanistan, to name a few are infact the countries where you do not have the basic rights or women rights or freedom to do pretty much anything, and she can only do this in America, not justifying violence but this is not the occasion to do that.

Freedom of speech at others' expense is not advisable.

The world upside down! All this at Harvard! Eminent professors seated sheepishly while a young inexperienced girl giving lessons! The opening speech should have been made by an eminent professor! The professors are running away from their responsibilities!

Woke and Leftists have no place in India. Kindly go to Gaza and help people there. Giving speech is easy. Converting it into action is difficult.

How about condemning acts of terrorism. She is privileged to be living in America where she can preach about civil liberties and rights. The people in Gaza dont have that right under Hamas, but she didnt condemn Hamas. She spoke well, but is hypocritical.

She went to Harvard for education, but she uses the platform like a seasoned politician, waiting for applause.
without understanding the depth of long standing conflict and even UN is not able resolve the problem till date.
