I had 78 Camaro LT, V8, 350, 4 Barrel & an 8 Track Tape Deck, hahaha. I drove it for about 12 years. Great car! I should've never sold it.

I’ve got a 78 Ford F150. I’m not a mechanic and I’ve done my own radiator, fuel pump, breaks, hoses, gas tank and sending unit etc. love it.

I was 16 years old and with my older brother and mom and younger brothers, we drove a 49 Plymouth (6 cylinder) from Indianapolis, Indiana to Albuquerque, New Mexico, about 1400 miles with the distributor cap tied down on one side with a shoe string. And no mechanical problems all the way there.😊

I remember when we could peer down under the hood and see the pavement underneath the car. I remember taking off the air filter and spraying the starting fluid into the carburetor to get the car started. I even remember a manual choke on a dual carb Corvair. Sigghhh... Cars are rapidly turning into gas driven computers.

The great old days with the pencil in the carburetor lol. One of my favorite memories with my dad in the 70’s.

Scotty is waving his arms and hands like the robot in Lost In Space shouting, “Danger! Danger! Will Robinson! Danger!” 😂

I loved the old Chevies where the same transmission fit almost all the different models. I remember having a rebuilt transmission put in my 61 Impala for $135

Had a 79 berlinetta 350 4spd. Doors rusted so bad that they collapsed! Not to mention rotted floor! Loved it though.

My dad had a 1978 Z28 Camero. I remember picking at the glue that oozed down from the interior trim panel in the backseat when I was a little kid. (No, I didn't eat it) I also remember the warp / hump in the middle of the dash. Apparently, the car was delivered with the defect. I don't know why my dad never took it back to dealer to get it fixed. I ended up driving that car when I was in high school. I was upset that my dad didn't buy the car with a manual transmission. The automatic was terrible, it had to be rebuilt at 55k, and it still never shifted right. The power the car had was abysmal 5.7L V8 with only 195 hp.

I got and still have a1979 Z28 Zapper. I live in Canada, so stored every wnter. Driving to Laguna Seca, from Toronto. Somewhere on the interstate near in Des Moines. I stompped on it and bent 4 push rods. No worries ran on 6 till I got off the interstate to a Napa Parts store. All of under 30 min. I was back on the road. A new car I'm Done!!

Back then every year the cars looked different but mechanically it could all be swapped around. Now every year the cars look the same but nothing can be swapped.

Those were the days my friend; we thought they'd never end; we'd drive and drive forever and a day. For we were young and sure to get where we were going.😊

Had I known the direction the auto industry was going in I would've taken better care of and kept my '74 Matador.

Remember when a tune up was spark plugs and gumout?..My recent tune up was almost $700 because of very difficult to reach plugs AND coils!😖
