It's hepatojugular "reflUx". The abdominal pressure should be held and if the JVP goes up and remains so for 5-10 seconds then it's "present". Also, the 45 degree angle is a starting point, but if the pulsation/ top of the column cant be seen, then the bed should be lowered until you can. In a healthy person the JVP might be 5cm, so at 45 degrees that will be below the clavicle and therefore not visible. Finally, while the IJ is the correct vein traditionally, in a thin person it's often MUCH easier to see the EJ pulsation and meniscus. If you see it on an individual then you can follow it as they're treated, so it'll have internal validity (relatively speaking). - Michael Carson

Am I the only one that felt Harrison was looking into the windows of my soul from 00:04-00:10? Either way, nice work. Maybe use an old person on a video like this so we can see some nice JVP.

Hey, really well made video, just one suggestion: I think it is hepatojugular reflux as it is not technically a reflex. Keep up the good work though, it was all very clear!

Love the channel; keep up the great work. Any videos on examination of the MSK system (knee, shoulder etc) would be really welcomed

So if we make the abdominal reflux and noticed a sustained JV does it incidates for an abnormal right ventricular failure? And if it was raised, then it's a normal condition? Am I correct?
And thank you so much for the video :)

Non-palpable means you can't feel its pulse with your finger right?
