“You do not have to read the whole book”
My adhd brain: BUT I NEED TO READ EVERY LETTER AND I DON’T WANT TO MISS A THING😂

I didn't realize the line spacing, SO helpful! Most "self help" books are giant blocks of paragraphs and I have such a hard time reading them. I love how much thought was put into this layout, thank you so much!

I have to say, I didn't expect this but your book made me realize that I can read more. I finished your book within a week when I have struggled with finishing one in over 3 months. Congrats on making New York Bestseller.

I am obsessed with the audiobook. I listen and take notes. I have notes for things I’m learning about adhd and then separate notes on tools I want to use. I am so happy there is an audiobook.

I was diagnosed just last month at the age of 41. I found your channel back in October and it helped me finally realize what's been going with me my whole life.

Thank you SOOO much for writing this masterpiece of life cheat codes all in one spot at just the right time in my life!

I love how this book is laid out. I’m making notes in the margins and such.

Something that really helps me is not having sentences not finish on each page. I struggle when the information is split, especially when flipping the page is required

I didn't understand what you meant when you said ADHD friendly, but I was shocked because this is such a great, eye friendly thing. *huge sensory friendly huggles*

I asked about this in the preorder book forum, and there’s a lesson to be learned about how we present ourselves so that we are better heard and understood by everyone. You can do it without masking, yet still organize your thoughts in a way that’s accessible. And I think Jessica’s efforts towards accessibility in the channel and the book are integral to her success.

Can you make a ‘HOW TO CONTENT CREATE” post? I really want to understand your ADHD friendly process for research, recording, posting, etc.

Oh my god. I can't comprehend how long it has been since I've seen the contents of a book and think "I actually WANT to read that". I've never had this feeling for any book during my school time or when I'm trying to learn a language I'm interested in! I need to get myself a copy ASAP!

I’ve been listening to the audiobook in the car to and from work and the moment I heard “Hi brains” I nearly teared up. So proud of this accomplishment for you and the neurodivergent community

I bought it last week. Slowly working my way through it, I have it sitting on my coffee table so that I remember that I bought it and will actually read it. So far, I think it's a great resource. Thank you for making it.

Love love love the effort to make the physical book more accessible!

Random thought - any chance the publisher would consider including one of those "choir book" ribbon bookmarks? I know I'm not the only one running around using shreds of envelopes and CVS receipts as a bookmark - including one, and one I literally cannot lose, would be amazing. :D

I preordered your book. Then I realized that I also wanted the ebook, too. I am enjoying reading it. It truly is ADHD friendly. But then I was wishing to listen to the book while reading it. So I bought the audio version, too. It was knowing that you narrated that sold me!

A lot of this are things that publishers do for books and novels aimed at early teenagers. It’s meant that I often have stayed in that area for reading physical books because books for adults tended to have harder to read pages.

I haven't watched the video yet but you did a great job! I got it on audible. You read at a great pace. Most readers are a bit too slow for me to keep focused, I always have to put the speed at like x1.3. I learned a ton of helpful and actually very useful advice, especially in the friends section. Did the whole 9 hrs while cleaning my house. The hyperfocus was really with me that day haha

I finally learned the purpose of small talk at 31! Mostly I learned that I don't have to constantly hate and blame myself for all the forgetfulness, tiny mistakes, lost things, late fees, over ambition, time issues, etc. but to expect and plan for those things to be there too. I am learning to compensate in healthier ways; not think of my diagnosis as an excuse to stay the same, but a reason to approach myself differently, knowing more of the variables.

Edit: Finished the video. The conversational way you wrote it was very important to how engaging and helpful this book was.

Sometimes, ADHD and other mental health books (especially those about trauma) really make me feel like a tiny person on a glass slide being examined under a microscope. Books like that take me forever to read and I rarely finish them.

They make me feel emotionally overwhelmed and like someone is presenting me with a shiny platter of my problems and faults and then dark statistics for why I'll never be different and probably die early.

Your book felt like a wise friend with similar struggles giving me real, life-earned advice from the heart. Thank you for all the hard work to make it a good and helpful experience.

TDLR: Great book. The audible version is good. It made my life different. Buy and read the book.

I’ve followed your channel for a while now, so I’ve learned about a lot of the topics included in your book already. Sometimes if I already “know” what to expect when reading it can make me lose attention, but when I noticed (especially after you explicitly mentioned it, hence the title of this video) that the book was written to be ADHD friendly, I was already 60 pages in all of a sudden. You’re a phenomenal author and it goes without saying that you’ve touched so many people. You really deserve the recognition—this book is fantastic!

I think it is so amazing that someone like you took the time to make this. Not only for us with ADHD. But people who doesn't have it see the book can read it to understand more of it. But this also makes it open for discussion with people without ADHD because its becomes a normal think. Fun thing you can be proud of. I saw your book in my local bookstore, in the Netherlands 🎉

I totally agree. I am an author with 10 million books in print and I have ADHD. I have come to see ADHD and to use it as an advantage in my writing. I write biographies for middle schoolers through to adults . I find I know when to stop writing about something and move on. My co writer (also my husband) would often like to keep going on a particular point, but I say "no, this is enough. It's going to get boring if we write any more", so we move on. The older I get the more I see this as a super power. I will order your book today. It looks fabulous!
