Emails show the judge was in contact with the highest officials at MCAO, including County Attorney Allister Adel, Chief Deputy Ken Vick, and division chief Rachel Mitchell. It’s a stunning conflict and lack of disclosure, according to legal ethics experts.

Wow. It’s frightening that someone so corrupt can get as far as she did.

As a taxpayer I don't want this lady in any office that serves the public.
I hope she retires, & finds a rock to crawl under, & her clerk can join her.
Kudos to the whistleblower that did the right thing!

I admire your station for allowing a reporter to investigate law enforcement, prosecutors, and judges, who have the power to put possibly innocent people in jail. There aren't a lot of news organizations who will dare stand up against that power!
It would be nice if Dave could investigate the Mesa, AZ police department, and the way they're systematically going after "auditors" who film them at work, saying they pose a risk to the "safety of the officer". I've checked into it, and have never heard of an auditor who physically attacked an officer while they filmed them. To the contrary, there are many cases of officers falsely arresting, using excessive force, and breaking the phones of citizens who dare want to record them. If a driver wants to record his own traffic stop, there are times when an officer makes the driver get out of the vehicle, "for officer safety", and won't allow them to bring their phone they were recording them on, again, "for officer safety". That's one of the most abused statements officers make.
Please look into it, because they're trying to make it illegal to record police at work, using instances they escalate, calling multiple cars and a police helicopter, because there are auditors recording a traffic stop. They're wasting precious resources to make it look like they were in danger, when it wasn't even close to being true! For a department to be fighting being recorded this hard, they must be violating the rights of those they stop, or doing pretextual stops that they don't want the public to know about.

TREASON??
WHY NOT?
STANDING IN DEFIANCE OF THE CONSTITUTION AND THE PEOPLE THEY SERVE, MUST BR OF THE HIGHEST CALIBER, NOT ONE OF BAR ROOM FIGHTS AND DLANDEROUS, CHILDISH NAME CALLING!
THOSE ACTS MAKES ONE UNFIT AND TOO IMMATURE FOR THE POSITION!

WE DEMAND BETTER!

WE DO NOT WANT ANY CONFLICTS OR FAVORED JUDGES, OR PROTECTIONS OR PREFERENTIAL TREATMENT FOR TAXPAYER JUDGES, PROSECUTORS AND DISTRICT ATTORNEYS.
CRIMINAL MISCONDUCT CAN NEVER BE ALLOWED, OR DEFENDED IN ANY SHAPE, WAY, OR FORM.
TRANSPARENCY IS DEMANDED!
WE PAY FOR TRUE JUSTICE, NOT PANDERED CRIMINAL ACTS OF OUR JUDICIAL STSTEM.
HONOR AND OBEY THE CONSTITUTION, OR FIND A DIFFERENT JOB FAR REMOVED FROM OUR LEGAL SYSTEM.

What's strange is, their jokes about people were all extreme with a mix of macabre. Pretty creepy to me.

I think it is interesting that when they se confronted with unnecessarily wasting our hard earned tax dollars, they just say that that $ is nothing to them. Then maybe next time they should pay for it out of the OWN pocket.

Judges have way to much power. If only people knew how much time they are out playing golf or shopping

Are there any honest public servants at MCAO? I thought of retiring there, but not anymore.

It's just too funny that these lawyers who work to decide the fate of a person in death penalty cases (which is the harshest harshest penalty imagined) aren't a good enough lawyer to represent and defend themselves and the office they work for. How fucked up is that?
