Great explanation, thanks for making the video. On our MG BGT, we've got the problem of reverse being too easy to select, and I've crunched it a couple of times recently, especially at junctions. This weekend's job will be to clean and re-grease the plunger (along with the reverse light switch which is only working occasionally).

Hi, thank you so much for this information. I just picked up my 1949 MG TC from the mechanic and cannot for the life of me, get it into reverse since getting the car home. They replaced the brake master cylinder at the shop m. Is there any reason why that might trigger a problem? Thank you so much for your time. Best regards.

I have just purchased a 1970 mg midget and I dont believe i had a problem getting into reverse, but would get stuck in it and had it shooting me backwards even with no gas. I dont believe it is the original engine and am hoping cleaning and bleeding fully the slave cylinder will do the trick. any suggestions?

Why is reverse to the right on this transmission? Is it from a wrongside drive car ?
