Virtual Reality as a way to augment assembly operations for training is a common enough theme these days. But less often recognized is the need for Virtualizing the Manufacturing Environment prior to the start of production. After all, if the process is not feasible or even plausible to complete for assembly then why develop training content?

The use of IC.IDO as a validation of the assembly operations for new manufactured goods is a long established and accepted process at many global OEM in Automotive and Aerospace. Even prior to the availability of VR consumer level headsets, Virtual Reality labs used IC.IDO to perform these manner of evaluations.

The primary difference is that with the widespread availability of VR hardware, more engineers should be performing these assembly, service, or operation reviews for their new products more often.
