I remember sitting in my study hall on my first year in middle school, I was in the cafeteria which has a few big windows to the outside, that day it was storming hard, down pouring and thundering, I had recently found these earlier albums at the time and I decided to play this, and holy shit, I can’t describe how much it fits, just staring out into a grey sky with rain everywhere, gives a weird feeling, almost like hopelessness, but not exactly, it’s a vast feeling, like you’re staring out into a wet grassy field with a gloomy sky hanging over, I’m going into my junior year now, but I doubt I’ll ever stop loving this band.

My god I’m gonna cry while my heart explodes because this is so good it melted my brain down my neck to my heart. It was hot, my heart was combustible apparently. I love these guys! So glad they re used this riff with Islands ❤️

I love the album artwork, it's a little more avant garde than the norm. I absolutely adore ink washes as well. This may not actually be an ink wash, but it very closely resembles one. Regardless, neato. The song is pretty amazing too, but so are all of the songs by the Unicorns.

For those who don't know you can listen to "The Islands" song Swans and it uses the same guitar riff in a much better way IMO. But this is still a classic :D
