Macau was not invaded by the Empire of Japan during World War II. Although Macau was neutral for much of the war, it was occupied by the Japanese for a few days in 1941, but Portuguese authorities quickly negotiated the liberation of the region.

Side note: the flag of the republic of china did change quite a lot of times. It should originally be the beiyang “five races under one nation” flag, aka the memed fake lgbtq flag. Then during the warlord era it first changed to the gui/kwei flag, then the national revolutionary army flag until the end of its governance over mainland (except japanese occupation era)

I *CANNOT* believe I have to say this again. If you don't know the history of a region, *then don't make a video of it.* It's that simple.
This is *no better* than your other video also about Hong Kong, and *if not worse.* It was *FROM A YEAR AGO.*
Seriously, all of the obvious and glaring mistakes are just a quick Google search away. I know you have a rapid upload schedule, but searching about some stuff is not _that_ hard.

(The Macau part was ok, I'll give you a point)

1. * The British never invaded Hong Kong. * AND never in one go. In the aftermath of the First Opium War, Hong Kong Island was ceded to the British * as part of the peace deal. * It was _never invaded_ in the first place! And it was just the island, * not the entirety of Hong Kong. * Kowloon was next ceded _a couple decades later_, after the Second Opium War. Again, * it was never invaded. * It was ceded while the New Territories are getting leased, which is also * not invaded. * 3 points down the drain.

(UK shouts "I'm joining the WW1, as if China didn't. Honestly, I'll let it slide.)

2. Yeah, sure, Japan invaded Hong Kong. You got that right. 1 point. However they did their landing * from south of Hong Kong Island *, _ not from the Mainland. _ 1 point gone. Whatever.

3. Macau didn't even get invaded. You guess what happens now. Yep, another point lost.

4. Macau's handover date was 1999. Hong Kong's handover date was 1997. Not after, * before * Macau's. I'm tempted to count that as two points, but I'll be generous. One point.

Wow, look at your brilliant score! 2/7, you guessed it, you fail! It's almost like you aren't competent with anything, and keep reposting everything, along with every stupid mistake they carry. I guess we will never know.

You forgot the part where Portugal invades Lantau island but fails.

a few things wrong with this though:

- Portugal wasn't sovereign in Macau until the 19th century, it was more of the equivalent of a leased area where the Portuguese could process goods, and the only way for foreigners from the sea could trade with China in the Ming and Qing dynasties

- Britain opened up a trade post in Canton (Guangzhou) first, as kind of like a second leased port like Macau was, it was only later (1st Opium War) that Hong Kong fell under British influence, and was probably one of the first sovereign concessions

- Britain after the Treaty that ended the 1st Opium War ONLY occupied Hong Kong Island, I think it was around the time of the Boxer Rebellion that they then annexed the bulk of what makes up Hong Kong today (New Territories)

- This video makes it look like Macau was given over first (the Macanese SAR flag is shown manifesting BEFORE the British colonial flag ends...) which is definitely very sloppy. It's well known Hong Kong was ceded first in 1997, and then Macau in 1999
