I know two guys who recently left railroad jobs after more than 15 years. Each one says management is the problem

If you want, food and supplies, make sure that the farmers, the truckers and the freight haulers are happy.
Three years is too long to wait for basic working conditions that we all have now.

My dad worked for 35 years for UP working in the yards and tracks loading trains. 16 hour days 35 days in a row sometimes, always on call. Became a manager and everyone loved him because he knew what it was like to be at the bottom working in extreme cold and heat. 2 of his buddies died getting hit by trains. Never did get to retire, contracted panctiotic cancer and passed away before he could enjoy retirement.

Rail workers deserve like anyone else that works to have quality time with family and be at medical treatment

When Biden said there is a deal on. He meant before the midterms no strike.

Hell, I got 15 days sick pay per year from a grocery store. I can believe they have none!

The rail roads are pressured by BlackRock and Vanguard who are forcing the management to squeeze blood from a turnip. Management no longer runs companies, it’s BlackRock and Vanguard that threatens to crash their stock if they don’t maximize their profits.

Current railroader... People have no idea how much we work, how much sleep we don't get. What's it's like to work, get off .. go home and get a call 2 hours before you show up. (Barely getting 6/7 hours sleep). It's a rough life.

STRIKE! Stand your ground, you deserve sick time, and time off, where you and your family know your life is not controlled by a phone call where you're mandated to go to work 24/7!

You saying they are not being treated fairly. Unions are no good and need to be abolished. If you don't like the pay or lack of perks, get a different job that provides what you want/need from an employer.
Andrew Haines, cheif executive of Network Rail, is payed £588, 000
Network Rail chairman Peter Hendy received a £375, 000 pay packet
As many as 61 staff got bonuses of more than £30, 000 over the last two years
Union Pacific:
Locomotive Engineer - $70-130K/yr
Railroad Conductor - $53-116K/yr
Train Conductor - $56-122K/yr
Sr Ops Manager - $77-$144K/yr

My dad always said. If you want to know about the economy? Look at the trains. Second look at the truckers. If they're all busy.? Life is good. If not? Life sucks. Pretty simple and very true

The lowest level of management is salary and they get upto 6 months off due to sickness without losing their paycheck . But Labor doesn't contribute to profits according to management.

I am stunned that these employees have essentially no sick days. I am also surprised that there is still the antiquated call system for them. Do commercial pilots need to live unable to plan a trip, schedule medical appointments or childcare with no reasonable knowledge of when they will be required to work? The pay is not bad but living under those serf-like rules must really suck.
