Edit: I’ve also been experimenting with my 5” monitor mounted to my left side smallrig handle. I definitely like this for the same reasons you talk about. Seeing you do it kind of validates what I was thinking too.

I have Almost the same setup except the monitor. I use the ninja v. I was using the same smallrig side grip as you have. And I kept seeing this grip on Amazon by Sirui Who makes tripods? And they have a more sturdier grip for $30 which is an aluminum grip that comes with the option of nato rail mount or a 1/4 thread screw mount. I do not know how they even make money off of it. Because for the same grip by smallrig they charge sixty dollars.

connecting both monitor and camera to the same v-lock there is the risk of a short circuit, it has already happened to me on two cameras, I burned two HDMIs, I don't understand why all the YouTubers continue to assemble rigs in this way without warning of the possible risks.

can you actually lock in the fx3 cage directly onto the falcam? Since the bottom of the cage is already Arca compat

Hey, just came across your channel, amazing stuff. If you were looking for a camera today, would you still go for the fx3? Trying to see whether I should make a purchase for a new cam in 2023 or wait for next year.

Very nice! My rig is very similar but I found that smallrig vmount release lever sticks too far out and interferes with the fx3 monitor screen. I tried another vmount with a top lever but it was a poor design and the battery was loose. I ended up bending a 90 degree turn in the smallrig vmount to allow the screen to go flush with the side of the battery. And you are right, it's got to look good!
