Legend has it he's still chasing the kite and since the girl didnt get to finish her lesson she just went home. Eventually she gave up on kiting because she was so bad at it and took up cooking as a hobby. She is barefoot and pregnant as i type this.

Actually it's the mistake of both people. Normally the kite is connected in to ways to your body (directly to the harness and also with the safety leash). You see they change kites, but in normal way they first both have to change their safety leash before removing the kite from the harness. The guy now already started changing while one kite wasn't connected right to his own safety leash (that black robe you see) what was wrong. Actually the way the woman disconnects the kite is normal when connected to the safety leash, I guess she thought it still would be connected to a safety leash. She didn't check it tough... But it would have been dangerous for both kites not to disconnect the kite from her harness because the risk of tangled lines. So they both just forgot one step, and that caused this situation.
So please don't blame someone when you don't know where you're talking about

FYI it’s a competition and this was a quick kite swap. Safer and quicker for rider to drop the bar than pass to the assistant
