New 2024 Daihatsu Rocky Crossfield Mini Off Roader SUV

The Daihatsu Rocky Crossfield made its debut at the 2024 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show, showcasing a range of off-road enhancements that emphasize the subcompact SUV's tuning possibilities.

The Rocky Crossfield immediately catches the eye with its imposing large all-terrain tires mounted on black 16-inch alloy wheels, enhancing ground clearance. It also features black wheel arch moldings, a black grille cover, and unpainted bumpers, underscoring its off-road capabilities.

Additional standout elements of the Rocky Crossfield concept include distinctive name decals, yellow fog lights, a roof rack, an LED light bar, and a retractable awning, making it well-suited for camping adventures.

Inside, the Rocky Crossfield features a sporty touch with a Dark Grey Metallic ornament on the audio cluster area. It also boasts a 9-inch head unit display that connects seamlessly to smartphones, enhancing both entertainment and driving experience.

Additionally, the SUV is equipped with a versatile roof rack capable of carrying a surfboard and a portable camping tent, catering to surfers and outdoor enthusiasts who wish to relax and stay shaded during their adventures.

Beneath the hood, the Rocky Crossfield features a naturally aspirated 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine delivering a modest 85 hp and 105 Nm of torque. Power is sent to the front wheels through a continuously variable transmission (CVT).

Not bad but also not exceptional, small cars manufacturing companies producing only a handful of entry level vehicles have the time, the skilled laborers (engineers and designing teams), beside the adequate financial resources to design a groundbreaking models at least in it's categories...

historically Daihatsu Rockey came at the same time of Toyota RAV4 and Suzuki Vitara, the first developed and matured properly over time and successive generations, the second secure it's place in the small economic SUVs cartography, but the Rocky declined over time at least in left hand drive cars markets...

although it could compete with its:
1-very attractive or aggressive pricing policy...
2- Japanese reliability and excellent build qualities...

the brand still enjoy huge popularity inside Japanese market especially with small cars with special numbers plates ( small engines, and electric engines), and in some right hand drive cars countries especially those with a population having a low purchasing power or generally individuals and families with low income and small budgets and imposing and excessive taxes on imported cars...
