Tarkov Life-Hacks for Early Wipe! Tips and Tricks to get ahead

Today’s video is all about the tricks, tips and strategies that I have used to start off this wipe. We’ll be covering lots of topics in this video, starting with optimising stash space and getting to the Lucky Scav Junkbox, which has become really important with the changes to the flea market only accessible at level 20.

Next, we’ll check out some of the less obvious but useful barter trades for progression and modding, which have been changed a little this wipe for certain items like handguard rails.

Two of the best weapons that you can get access to early are the SKS from Jaeger and the VPO-136 from Skier, as both use 7.62x39 PS. The SKS is perfect for long range, as it’s one of the first weapons that can take a scope, namely the PSO which fits natively. On the other hand, the VPO can be modded fairly easily to attach a handguard, laser and red dot for more CQB styles of combat and can also be crafted into a full auto AKM at workbench 1.

Finally, we’ll take a broad look at the early quest lines and give a few tips for some important things to know to help get these done early, including a useful keys and food items loot run.

Only just started playing so this is muscle memory for most but using struts and foregrips etc to mount mods and scopes has been a huge temporary space saver. 1 shotgun strut + 3 lights/lasers knocked down into 1 slot instead of 4 separate pieces.

Thank you Gigabeef. You're the first Tarky vid I've seen of this wipe that mentions that other traders no longer take gun parts unless dismantled first, if the gun is damaged. Good vid.

This guide is still useful today. Some minor changes happened in 2022 but it's still fine.

those pistol kills are streamer luck, when I go in a raid to do that quest I always meet swety boys

Thanks so much for this. Must say I really appreciate the SCAV karma and flea market at level 20 combination. Makes early wipe so much more fun for beginners like me.

Giga is the one of the best content creators of Tarkov on my opinion, informative and straight to the point

8:43 You can knock another 4 recoil off it quite cheaply (~1.5K₽).
Replace the muzzle brake with the Taktika Tula AK and AKM adapter from Skier and the AK-103 muzzle brake from Prapor both level 1.

That gunsmith part 2 work around is a life saver.

I've been doing runs on Reserve as my scav to get keys and food but I still need the bunkhouse key as well. Also for the first day I just ran woods, started looting at sunken village, go up to the little camp by the relay tower, loot around said tower, and finally hit USEC camp. Found a very good variety of loot doing that and it was pretty uneventful, other then when I forgot where the mines were on USEC camp.

For the VPO 136 you can buy the TT Akm adapter from skier and the ak-103 muzzlebrake from prapor to get slightly better performance

Best rig for space at least for me was CSA with 10space inside while only taking 6. Its small so very easy to tetris in your stash on top of that it can fit up to 3 slot guns and items like smgs and pistols

I’ve found that this early in the wipe you don’t usually need the office key. That door is unlocked and open in most raids, just swing through on your way to extract and collect your quest items

LOL for the mechanic quest regarding the shotgun, this wipe I found the compensator I needed by just talking to a scav with a shotty that had one and traded for it right there on the spot.

Running the villages and camps along the North of woods as a Scav is a beauty for early wipe loot needs. I’m swimming in food and hideout items

Super nice guide! The village in Shoreline has a quite high amount of jackets too!

Good tips, thanks. You've had the best run at stirrup I've ever seen I think. I've had six attempts into factory and everytime run into geared blokes before I can get a good run. I've only managed two pmc kills in the six or so attempts so far.

Looking at this guide in 12.12 is just hilarious. Crafts have been way easy just a year ago still.
