🎄Great advice. This is the one area I feel I've cracked. After years of watching mostly the females in my family burn themselves out over the festive period, all the planning, spending worries, buying etc and cooking into the wee hours enough food to feed most of the UK, then the over indulgence and frazzled tensions, to reach fever pitch perfection for 1-2 days. I did follow that for a short while but decided to do things my way which did rock the family boat but they soon got used to it. So, I set a budget and only buy token things I know are wanted for immediate family and very close friends, hubby and I plan our stay with the family and again, we do it our way: we watch our food and drink intake, go for regular walks, go for our granny/grandad naps (as the family call it), to recharge and we come away feeling like we've had a great break, while the rest go a bit overboard and feel drained. They take the piss a bit sometimes thinking we are boring farts, but we don't seem to experience the aftermath low we see so many suffer. We don't even bother about decorations if we are away from home and last year, I did a Mexican themed Christmas dinner 😁 I highly recommend your advice Jeremy and do Christmas your own way!

PS my birthday is Christmas eve so that used to add to the stress a few years back until I decided to celebrate on my terms, I look forward to it now and enjoy it 😁
