Thanks so much for your video! It really helped me get my experiment going. I have one question for which you may have the answer. Instead of adding two routines, I assume you could have an outer loop that makes routine 1 repeat itself two times. It is not a big change for your example because you only have two sentences, but it would be really helpful for files with more sentences. Do you happen to know how I can make Psychopy read/show on screen the first sentence and then progress to the sentences that come after with an outer loop? I have formatted my file just as yours (S1, S2, ..., S18, and then a word per cell). I am using the Builder not the Coder. Thanks once again, Patricia.

How did reaction time appear in the data? Did you enter any instruction for it somewhere so that it would appear in a column?

Hi there, thank you for the video. I'm writing an MA thesis in Psycholinguistics and I need to work with PsychoPy to employ a self-paced reading task. However, the data consists of 64 sentences in total. Do I need to add them all on an Excel sheet as you did here, or do you have any other recommendations? Also, after each sentence, I need to add a comprehension question with two options. Participants are expected to opt for one option after reading the sentence. How can I do that on PsychoPy? If you could help me with that it would mean a lot, thanks :)

Hi Ethan Need,
It's a very helpful video to set up a self-paced reading experiment! Everything worked perfectly fine until I wanted to look at the data. In the spreadsheet all data is mixed up and there are no lists with reading times or other things I can use for my data collection. Do you know how to change this? Do I have to do something with the settings before I start running the experiment?

how should we insert Arabic letters. When I write the sentences with Arabic alphabet, they become mirrored.

In my task the sentences are not all the same length, but the program takes the blank cells after shorter sentences as part of the sentence and waits for the response key. Is there a way to make it ignore empty cells?

And what if I want to use pictures instead of the sentences written in excel?

I am having an issue with the Excel file where I have written the conditions. I go to trial properties then click on browse and try to select the Excel file but it doesn’t recognise it. For some reason it does recognise other Excel files but not this one. I have also tried pasting the conditions into the file that it does recognise and saving it as a .csv file but that doesn’t work either. Any idea why this might be? Thanks!
