MEMORY VERSE
Genesis 8:21(NKJV)
21 And the Lord smelled a soothing aroma. Then the Lord said in His heart, “I will never again curse the ground for man’s sake, although the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth; nor will I again destroy every living thing as I have done.
Application questions
1. How can we encourage and support one another in our journey of faith and obedience? Why is community important in strengthening our decision to follow God faithfully?
2. What are some passages in scripture that challenge you to actively seek refuge in Christ amidst the challenges you face today, just as Noah sought refuge in the ark? How can those passages help you change the outlook of your current circumstances?
3. What does obedience look like in a culture filled with self-gratification? Are there areas in your life that you need to realign with the image of Christ?
4. What does the Bible have to say about God’s promises? Do you completely trust and rely on these promises? What would your life look like if you did?
5. In moments when you or others around you fall into sin, how can you respond in a way that reflects God’s righteousness and love, much like Shem and Japheth did?
ADDITIONAL QUESTIONS FOR FURTHER DISCUSSION:
• Noah was a righteous man. His walk with God proves in how he keeps God’s commands. In light of his example, what ways do you need to step up to live righteously through faith and obedience this week? Write down some ideas and share with your group for accountability.
• Share examples of times when someone’s prayers or encouragement gave you the strength to persevere in obeying God’s will.
