I think (if I recall correctly) they recently learned what happened to her. She supposedly tried to communicate via radio, but the people who heard the transmissions thought it to be a prank and did not contact authorities. They found where the transmissions were from.
A small island lost in the pacific, infested with coconut crabs. They also supposedly found the radio and could confirm she did use the radio. The most plausible explanation is that she was eaten by the crabs.

So basically Amelia Earhart was the first women to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean while she was flying she crashed in to the ocean she survived and saw a near by island she swam to that island little did she know that the island had coconut crabs
(which are 40 inches long) while she was at the island she encountered a coconut crab. She killed the first one with a weapon she made . Later on she was to tired and more coconut crabs came and devoured her… hope this helps that’s what they say what happened

People believe that she didn’t die, she landed in the ocean not too far from shore and swam to shore. They say that because someone took a picture of her sun bathing in the sun. However, I am still unsure she survived, because plane crashes are harsh and even though she supposedly landed in water, she could’ve drowned. Others think that her death wasn’t an accident, but a murder, because she was rich and famous, and her husband bought her that plane. They think that he gave her a bad plane so she would die, and he would inherit the money.Nobody knows for sure if she survived the crash or not.
