“LEPRECHAUN” (for piano 4 hands)
“Leprechaun” is a contemporary work for piano 4 hands, named after the tiny, mischievous Irish fairy. Legend says that if you happen to capture a Leprechaun, he will grant you three wishes, provided you let him go. The composition depicts a human’s attempt to catch a Leprechaun and all the tricks the latter pulls on him. The composition is defined by a staccato and misterioso main theme, edited in various dynamic rhythmic variations to illustrate the fairy’s deceitful character. The two pianists share the theme and contribute equally to the creation of rhythmic and melodic motives.
