They didn't charge because they saw the video. They charged because WE saw the video.

I’ve been a health care worker for many years and have witnessed more deaths than I care to remember. No one will ever convince me that the “officer” didn’t feel the life slip away from that poor victim under his knee. He should’ve been charged with capital murder.

It’s not a broken justice system, it’s a well oiled functioning injustice system. That’s the fight worth fighting.

At 55 years old, I can't say that I'm happy to see this social upheaval.
However, I can say *it's about damn time!*

I appreciate the non-blacks in these comments speaking up. It gets me emotional because we need more of this. Thank you.

I’m in law school in St. Paul so I’m very familiar with the possible charges. They charged him with UNINTENTIONALLY killing that man. I’m sorry, there was nothing unintentional about this.

"I really hope America is great now, because I don't think I could stand for it to be much greater."

Moving words, brother.

We're getting there. It just makes me sad to see what it's going to cost us as a society in lives and blood to buy real systemic change.

That was no mistake.
And no, these are not the right charges.
I'm disgusted.

You don't fight wrong cuz it's winnable, you fight wrong cuz it's wrong. Period.

I was talking to my wife today, who avoids the news, and I've never seen tear up in frustration on how we, as a species, treat each other based on skin colour and where people were born. Right after, I read a post on Twitter, i think, where someone had quoted some of this poor man's final words and he was asking for his mum. That made us both stop and raise a drink to George Floyd.
I then told her about the black CNN journalist who was arrested, with no reason given, while in the next block a white reporter doing exactly the same thing was left alone. Disgraceful.
I'm from a small Island in Scotland, a long way from the USA, and I simply can't fathom why there is so much hatred towards people because of their colour or race. It's perverse, like people with little willies trying to feel better about themselves, which brings me to the "police officer". There is no way he didn't know Floyd was falling unconscious. You can see it happening on the video where he looks down as if thinking "Yep, few more seconds and job done.". That's murder.

The fact that he kept his knee on his neck for 2 minutes and 53 seconds after George Floyd was unresponsive should be all the proof of intent they need. smfh.

That cop knew exactly what he was doing. Look at his face. And the other 3 are just as guilty. They all belong in prison.

"...I can't stand for it to get much greater."

Agreed.
I am utterly sick of "winning".

I only stumbled upon your videos a couple of weeks ago, and I subsequently went back and viewed your earlier posts as well. I have since then appreciated your informed, articulate, rational and no-nonsense approach to the relevant topics covered therein. I do not usually post online comments, but... given the dire and deeply distressing context in which this post was made, I just wanted to say that your empathy and justified dismay (dare I say, 'outrage'?) was palpable; whilst that might not immediately change the material facts and gross injustices underlying such travesties, it nevertheless gives voice to what so many others, including myself, are experiencing. That has value, so thank you. Please keep shining a light on important issues, and in so doing prompt your fellow Americans to contemplate their rights AND responsibilities more deeply.

The first minute was manslaughter. The next seven or eight was murder.
