Nestled in the foothills of Himeji, Japan, this stunning home by FujiwaraMuro Architects redefines modern residential design. Positioned on a corner lot, the house takes full advantage of sweeping panoramic views of the city and surrounding landscape, meeting the client’s desire for a harmonious connection with nature.

The 55 m² home features a striking large square opening in the southwestern wall, designed to flood the interior with soft natural light and frame breathtaking vistas. Varied floor levels throughout the house create unique perspectives, enriching the living experience and offering diverse spatial relationships with the outdoors.

Adding to its charm are several 'marginal' spaces, such as a doma, a wooden deck, and a courtyard, which blur the boundaries between indoor and outdoor living. These areas invite creativity and provide flexibility in how the spaces are used.

Inside, the second floor offers intimate framed views in the dining and kitchen areas, while the living room opens up to wider vistas, creating a relaxed yet dynamic atmosphere. The thoughtful integration of light, space, and functionality makes this home a true architectural masterpiece.

Very nice but the handle of the (outward opening) door, visible at 2:09mins, looks like it'll hit the adjacent, full height glazing when the door is opened.
