If they actually remove Elite Raids, imma be happy. It’s so bad to put rare or good Pokémon’s in raids excluding rural players.

Elite Raids were a disaster wrapped in a catastrophe thrown into a dumpster fire. They locked any eligible Gyms out of normal raids for an entire day, they only lasted like fifteen minutes, you couldn't remote 'em, and you couldn't solo 'em, so if you didn't have a local community, you were sunk. Niantic's been actually doing stuff right as of late, which surprises me- their response to the catch card glitch from day 1 of GO Fest, this Mega Rayquaza make-up event, it all comes off like they're actually starting to read the room, and I for one hope they keep it up. Removing Elite Raids entirely feels like a logical next step in that direction.

VIDEO IDEA:
Go to a small town during an event and play for a whole day. No car. No buys. Walking with 0 Pokecoins

Remote raid passes have destroyed my small community when it comes to local raids. No one wants to raid in person anymore, so I’m glad Ex and Elite raids are gone.

In my opinion, Elite Raids only work if there is incentive to do them.
No one wants a slightly harder, non-invitable raid without a reason to do them (e.g. legendary spawns after the raid, focused rewards such as XL rare candies or a load of Silver Pinaps/Golden Razz berries)

So if they do come back, I hope they come with an actual reason to do them.

I feel like it's too early to say Elite Raids are gone, but I really hope they are 😂😂

I like the elite raids for releasing new exclusive pokemon, like enamorus, since it encourages players to play in parks and meet up with others irl.

But once the shiny is out or it's a returning pokemon, it sucks to have it in elite raids since shiny hunters inevitably won't be able to get enough encounters during the limited times/locations.

honestly i miss EX raids, they were pretty fire and an invite actually felt special to get.

Raids that are designed to be for in-person community gatherings need to be better thought out. Just have select gyms spawn 25 min raids all day or something. So the community knows to just go and hang out at a location all day and meet other trainers. The mad dash from gym to gym is ridiculous and fragments the community as they don't know where to go next.

See, if elite raids had the old Hoopa bonus (although the local 500+ person community didn’t get a single legendary bird from it), I’d be sad to see them go. But since they are only shadow raids without the shadow Pokémon bonus, (essentially useless), I’m glad to see their disappearance. Hopefully, this isn’t the first warning sign that Niantic is removing remote passes for good.

7:40
I didn’t even get to do any because I don’t have good counters and I was on holiday, if I wasn’t, everyone in my area would’ve helped :(

I liked the EX raids better. Because you knew that there would actually be a lot of people at them. With the elite raids their was so many in so many places. It was hard to find one with enough people at it at the same time you was to actually be able to do it.

I feel like the Elite Raids were a double edged sword. The first time they happened it was kinda cool because it was convenient to go to a gym at a park that has always been a big PoGo spot in Nashville. I had to haul ass there right after work to make the 5:00 time, but I met a few people and I got the largely pointless Regidrago. But it was also a reminder of how I'm mostly alone in my PoGo experience since it was just me among all these other groups. That's exactly what was rammed home over the next few Elite Raids. That other gym was too far at the available times and every gym that was close enough that I checked had no one around when I got there. Actually pretty depressing. I feel like had they picked other gyms in the area it may have gone better, but who knows. Almost the opposite problem with the Rays; there were raids everywhere I could see but literally no one in any of the lobbies. I think the greater Nashville area is just a really piss poor place to try and play unless all your friends play too.

my issue is that they didn't give any free raid passes like other raid days like they did with Lucario other then just the daily free pass so ftp players like myself had no way to do more then 1 raid without spending money. 20 remote raids is cool except when Niantic won't give more ways to get poke coins so the only way is to buy poke coins with real money for raid passes or farm poke coins weeks ahead of time from like a month of gym defending every day. Same thing happened for the Necrozma and ultra beast raids the extra "free" passes were locked behind a 15 dollar paywall but this time there wasn't even a pack to buy. I know the game has to make money but if Niantic wants people to get out and play maybe put raid passes in the field research or something or in the showcase rewards like they do the incubators and incense would make more people try to get xxl pokemon if 1st place had a chance at a raid pass and do field research.

Elite raid days for 12 hours, 10 am to 10 pm. Every hour there is a batch spawning in. But for 30 minutes at a time there's a bunch spawning. Then take a minute for everything to respawn and it restarts. Then take a 5ish minute break and it starts again . Allowed to use a remote raid pass one an hour for the whole duration as well. Shiny pokemon have a higher odds of catching since it's exclusive for one whole day. Any hiccups and there shall be a make up day. Also bring back exclusive spawns to the wild once a gym has been completed for you. Before moving onto the next gym. But make it accessable for anyone and everyone. So everyone can do something at least and possible chance of getting the exclusive pokemon to mega Evo or giga Evo or what ever is in the game. But only make it for one day that's tied with the event. So mega Rayquaza just happened with shared skies. Make it on a Saturday. Halloween time? Genger VMAX. Or what the waters event? Lapras VMAX. Thoughts? 🤔

Anyone remember EX Raids? Where you did a raid (mainly in a park), and you'd get a raid invite (that was before Remote Raids was even a thing so it was also in person only), that'd usually ALWAYS be so early in the morning! I once even got one at 7 in the morning!

I think elite raids are bad and should be removed but they put those elite raided Pokémon in actual raids

If they keep Elite Raids, which I don’t want them to completely scrap, they should make it so you have to walk to the raid and you’d be allowed to invite friends. It wouldn’t be spammed because of the raid limit, and rural players would be able to play too. Or have Elite Raid Passes which you can get free from the first gift each day, and you can hold up to five, so then they’d still be able to increase the remote raid limit but not the elite remote raiding.
