Day 2: Two aspects were palpable at the inception of the eco-protest. The general context entailed the failure of the Russian ‘peacekeepers’ to exercise control over the ceasefire regime and the lack of progress over the Baku-Yerevan peace process. More specifically, the triggers were the illegal and unchecked illegal exploitation of #Karabakh’s resources and the role of the ‘peacekeepers’ in stopping ecological monitoring from being undertaken by Azerbaijani experts. Today, the narrative has assumed a more compartmentalised structure, but the gist remains the same. #SaveEnvironment
