LOL “here’s how I did it... first I made a really big mess trying to figure out how to do it”

That was genius! Great fix! I've heard of many 10 inch silent spinner breaking, I hope the company fixes the design flaw, and they switch to a bigger screw.

Ha ha! That “really big mess” kind of resembles my apartment floor approximately 50% of the time, as I’m always having “brilliant” art or diy ideas that require getting out a million supplies, and then only putting away a quarter of them before the next idea pops into my brain!

This is a lifesaver. I read that the 10'' tends to sag, but it was either this or the absolutely gigantic 12" so I took my chances. It was fine at first, but now its rubbing paint off the stand where the friction is (which I dont want my hamster injesting or breathing too much) as well as the sound is awful.

I'm pretty tolerant to the sound of wheels, and even squeaking wouldnt be so bad. But it sounds like someone playing drums when the back of the wheel hits that stand and I can tell the way it tilts makes it harder for my little guy to balance on it. For now I just glued a piece of fabric around it to make the friction quieter, but I'll definitely try this trick when I'm home this evening since it seems like a better and more permanent fix to the sagging problem as a whole

That looks more secure from the three anchor points. Pretty cool!

wow, this is an amazing video and you are so smart and crafty. i like the silent spinner for my hamster but i hate how flimsy and prone to breaking it is. thanks so much for sharing! you were so detailed in the materials and the process, even an idiot like me can figure it out. i super appreciate it!

Just a tip to someone who doesn't have all the tools needed for this hack, I find that inserting a thick piece of cardboard between the yellow part and the stand does the trick. Mine is all silent now and no more scraping. I observed my syrian hamster run all night and it stands well. Even my partner who is a very light sleeper didn't wake up from any noise. Finally no more arguing over sleepless nights

Is there a video for your fidget spinner comfort wheel hack? Im not finding it, but would love to see how it's done.
