Congrats Walker for always having the best content about digital transformation. Love how you always provide facts and detailed information when discussing how organizations can execute digital transformation successfully and the things they need to understand to avoid failing.

The psychology is simple; if you are giving away this level of knowledge and insight for free imagine the vastness of the breadth and depth your total knowledge.

Agree 100% this insane cancel culture is ludicrous at best. Canceling on pure "principle" only highlights that most of these people have no real principled thoughts or a sense of truth (the official accepted definition - for all time)... take any of these crazy hyper opinionated (but creatively hidden) rationales to their farthest extreme - and based upon supposed principles these people will all have to disown thier closest loved ones, friends, and even thier mother and father simply because they might think differently on a realatively benign topic.

Oh... there is such a thing as objective truth but the problem is we can't own the truth. We can and should be aligned/seek the truth (sometimes this happens in the exchange of ideas) but I individually can say I hold dominion over truth. This is why the weak insist on pushing the idea that they have a lived or personal truth that you must accept - seeking the truth is difficult, much easier and apparently more comfortable to desperately desire ownership and control over something... anything. It's this desperation that allows a person to contort their ability to reason and continually bounce from topic to topic in an effort rationalized a position without getting called out for a lack of depth in their thinking...

You asked about what the value is and why I consume your content. I assume my responsibility in my workplace to make us more successful as a manufacturer, and any input I or others have regarding this is critical and urgent. Your content helps me form the opinions and arguments in my head that I need to make to influence others in the organization, as it also affects and informs me.

I sit at the crossroads of Operations and Corporate IT roles, which is a rough place to be. But, it is also the right place to influence a successful DT initiative. Your goal of making American companies more successful can be met, and I am living that response. It is also isolating and employment threatening to push into these issues with entrenched managers. A community supporting this is critical when you don't belong in IT or OT.

So technical is critical because we need some meat or there would be nothing. But, higher-level thinking is critical, too, because these transformations are ultimately a transition of roles and supporting technology to build capability. And we have to be able to promote the best ideas and influence others to educate and support thier adoption.

Walker, you have said a few times that the specs should not be what the ERP layers say it should be. I agree with this. It could be stated more simply or perhaps emphasized differently.

I have heard other thought leaders from conference talks state they are past their second failed transformation. The second failure is typically a failure to recognize that plans and stated actuals are two different activities. I think you would agree that this top-down approach is what failed. So maybe it would be simpler to say your collecting data on actual events can not be constrained by planned data events. Otherwise, production workers can't use their autonomy to solve problems as needed to implement the Toyota model.

I believe we are doing this now, and the faulty outcomes have been extremely costly and have had a visible impact on profits at the c-level.

Feedback: keep doing what you’re great at. I don’t always agree with everything, only because some comments are not well suited for brownfield examples. Otherwise, I always appreciate how real you keep it. And you clearly do your home work. Similar to how tech is going through a correction, I hope those content creators who have no experience aka mouthpieces who have no original ideas stop wasting everyone’s time.

I love the content but I always thinks that it’s too long.

How to describe this podcast to others in this industry? Walker's content shows us best in class technology and best practices for Industry 4.0 automation. It is not biased according to profit, advertisers or other incentives. Walker is mission-driven to save and create middle class jobs in the United States.
