I'm a little confused on this on. When I looked at the router running I see this "ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 GigabitEthernet0/0". However, G0/0 is the interface connecting to SW2. I believe the default gateway should always point to the internet of unknown routes - not back into the LAN. I deleted that route and added it back pointing to G0/0/0 which is pointing to the internet. However, when I went to ping 1.1.1.1 from PC7 - it failed. I went back into the router and created a new route 10.0.0.0 255.0.0.0 10.0.0.193. After I did this I could ping 1.1.1.1 from PC7. Your teaching style is A++ though - I really feel like I am learning a lot here.

5:00 I'm not seeing the "switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q" in my lab. :(

Tried the lab first before watching the Lab video. I think I did good! Thank you so much, Jeremy!

I can't thank you enough for these labs. I decided to revisit some of them as the lessons have gotten more complex. I did everything right except knowing how to configure the ip routing of the last step. Even though I knew how to do it, I had a misconception of how to apply it in the case of the multilayer switch. Thanks!

I beleive as of the newer versions of PT "switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q" is automatic, the actual command isn't available anymore and doesn't show up in the show run command also.

Thanks, man you're the best for this technology, your explanation is very easy, keep going.

I like the look of the boson netsim and I like their questions. I will definitely keep them in mind if I feel I need more practice but your labs and Neil Anderson's free resources are sufficient for me at this time. I appreciate you showing us how NetSim and ExSim both work so we can make informed decisions before we spend the money.

watched and followed this lecture for a second time, benefit even more, understood vlan routing clearer

Hi! In this lab on R1, there was a static route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 gi0/0 already condfigured which will cover all the vlans and no more static routes are necessary in order to reach Cloud. So what was the point with "you'll have to configure the static routes"?

Thanks for your hardwork sir Jeremy. I hope you could finish your free series of videos as soon as you can.

jeremy i would like to thank you for all the time and effort you have done and teach us those things. I forward your videos to anyone interested in the ccna. I would however like to ask, is this list of videos finished ? Or a work in progress? Thanks again

Hi Jeremy, will there be no configuration on g1/0/1 interface ( SW2 ) when switching to Layer 3 from Layer 2?

@5:02 in my lab, I don't see this 'switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q' command in running config?

I did not make any config changes outside of this guided video here, but when I ping 10.0.0.129 from pc7, SW1 only floods the frames for the arp request through ports f0/1-2, it never floods them to f0/3-4 (VLAN30, the destination of the frame) and connectivity is not achieved. Anyone else experiencing this?

I checked the vlan brief for SW1 and vlan 30 contains interfaces f0/3-4, so all good there, and traffic from vlan 10 and 30 are allowed on SW1's G0/1 interface, so it's reaching the switch... it seems that there is no registered destination network address yet for f0/3-4 on SW1 as well after reviewing the simulation log... which make sense because the arp request never gets flooded out of f0/3-4 as stated. Any help is much apprecciated, thanks so much everyone.

many thanks, it's a very helpful practice. Tried to ping the router, initially cannot ping, finally realized that the router ip routing table is missing something, so added "ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 10.0.0.193", then it works. learned a lot, many thanks to Jeremy

At 10:27, could you please tell me how to configure the static routes on R1 to the Internet? What would be the commands we need to use?
