The Union of Santorini Cooperatives, aka Santo Wines, was founded back in 1911. Today, we are the largest organization of the island representing all the growers and counting 1.200 active members.
Committed to safeguard the local cultivations, we produce high quality Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) Santorini wines and products, as well as promoting sustainable agriculture development. Santo Wines R&D examines closely and develops our cultivation and vinification techniques, as we aim to preserve biodiversity, through the operation of a nursery of autochthonous volcanic varieties.
Being the ambassadors of Santorini's pure taste we produce: PDO Santorini wines, PDO Santorini Tomato, PDO Santorini Fava, Capers, Caper Leaves, as well as traditional preserves: Grape and Tomato. All the products available by Santo, guarantee the authenticity and the premium quality of the excellent products of the island, that have a distinct position in the worldwide gastronomy.
Santo's facilities include:
a) the Santo Wines winery, one of the most modern wine premises in Greece
b) the unique Santo processing plant for the Santorini Tomato
c) the Wine Tourism Center
We are open on a yearly basis. Our refined hospitality infrastructure, services and stunning views, place us among the most important wine tourism destinations in the country with 600,000 visitors each year.
