I am a vp supervisor and I completed the technical installation of 2 xr studios in Turkey. Considering the investment and daily expenses for curved led volume with 16k resolution with ceiling enabled, I think $10k should be considered the sweet spot. Of course, the total production budget of the project may vary depending on whether the studio also provides content production services, but the pre-production process must be taken into account, which means taking test shots in the studio. Some studios can allow 1/2 of the daily cost for test shooting.

Eventually I would like to get into Indie Filmmaking so virtual production has been on my mind. It was helpful to get a sense of how much the studios are charging so thank you for that. When I do begin it will be on a micro budget so I will have to look for alternative cheaper methods for awhile. However, I can see reaching a point where going to one of these places would work out better financially. If you find very small studios that charge a lot less that would be an interesting video as well. For the Indie Filmmakers just starting out. Thanks!

I live near Tampa, and Vu studio has a massive LED wall. I shot there and the prices are more in line with the Swedish studio. I think they shot a car commercial at 50K a day, and that was cheap for the client because they could do 6 locations in one day.

I was really surprised how high the rates are. Before I was thinking that top studios would charge $3000-5000/day. But that’s good news us :) Hope you enjoy the video!!
