MS Bohus (Color Line) - Tour! Three different elevators

Показать описание
Update: This ship is no longer owned or operated by Color Line. It has been replaced by the new ship Color Hybrid. MS Bohus has since been renamed to Ionian Star and was moored in Piraeus, Greece by the end of 2019.
There originally were just two elevators on board and both of them were service elevators. In 1999 however, the ship has been modernized and a public passenger elevator has been added. It travels between the two passenger decks. One of the service elevators has been modernized and now can be used by disabled people to reach car deck 3 or leave it. Assistance is required when using this elevator. Beside this special task, this still is a service elevator. Therefore it is locked off on the pasesenger deck 4 (where it opens into the Duty-Free store)
The third elevator is still service-only. It has got swing doors and no inner doors. Sadly the two older elevators have been modernized.
M/S Bohus is currently assigned to the route Strömstad (Sweden) - Sandefjord (Norway). Because Bohus is rather old compared to the average cruiseferries still running on Scandinavian waters, she gets replaced by a new ship soon. She should have already get replaced in 2014, but for some unknown reason this didn't happen yet.
Bohus is powered by NOHAB motors - a manufacturer which is defunct since 1979.
