My husband had a vasectomy reversal this February 2024. We only paid $1900 for the procedure and we visited the reversal clinic in Oklahoma. The surgeon had done over 10, 000 of the surgeries and has a very high success rate! We are entering cycle 3 of trying. It can take up to 4 months for everything to return back to normal. We live in Florida so we drove 12 hours and got an Airbnb close to the clinic. We already have two children and are going to try for number three and four :-) ❤

The discussion on whether vasectomies are permanent or reversable are here and there. Some say it is permanent (mostly men), whilst a number (usually women) claim it to be reversible. I'm having trouble which side to believe.

Thank you so much for the information. My husband and I have 4 kids currently and we miscarried twice in a two year span. The last miscarriage was with twins. We were devastated, I was so emotional and asked my husband to please get a vasectomy. He got the procedure and kept telling our friends he was going in for a surgery lol.
We now think that we should have waited until we were not in such a bad headspace because now we are seeking advice on reversing the procedure.
He is 46 now and I am 36 so I hope it is not too late for us.

Is it possible to do sperm aspiration with IUI instead of IVF?

How long can you freeze sperm?
Maybe the question is how long does sperm survive in a cryogenic state?
Great video!

Hello I watched the video very well
I have only 2 questions
1.Is it possible for Koreans to have surgery there?
2.If that is possible, would you do the surgery yourself?

Hi Dr Lora, I have a question, I'm 30 (F) and my Partner is 50 (M), He had a vasectomy 21 years ago. We know chances are very low of conceiving naturally after a reversal so would be looking into sperm Aspiration. In the UK we're not sure how much this will cost but we think it will be our best bet. Also taking into account that we only really want one child. In your professional experience is this the best way to achieve the results and if we are looking to conceive in the next year or two will his sperm still be okay? Are there tests that can be done to test his sperm count or reliability? He is active and reasonably healthy. I'm looking into a 'hertility' test to see whether I'm also ok. Is there anything else you would suggest for us?

If we chose sperm aspiration, what is success rate of becoming embryos. Is it happens that none of sperm is useless?

why doesn't aspiration yield a lot of sperm? can it be stored/frozen between aspirations for a larger uterine injection?

My husband had a vasectomy went 3 months later didn’t get cleared so he was supposed to go back a second time he didn’t and we just assumed he was good because months passed and i didn’t get pregnant but 8 months after the vasectomy i got pregnant, lost it and the dr checked had my husband get a semen analysis and it showed no live sperm, the dr can’t explain how I got pregnant and we need answers to what happened how did i get pregnant if his results show no sperm cells.

Are there any stats available on the chances of getting a woman pregnant after making a esperm extraction?

Also, How many times can I repeat an sperm extraction with a non so invasive technique?

Why nobody talks about cryopreservation of sperm?🤦🏻‍♂️ Why do we need all these complicated reverse procedures while we can just freeze the sperm in advance? Is not it the most logical and obvious move before getting sterile?

But it’s also more expensive to reverse is that correct is more expensive around eight to $10, 000
