Common Problem: Editing Text In Procreate

In this tutorial we'll be addressing a common problem new users may encounter when working with text in Procreate for the iPad. There will often be times where you want to edit the style of your text after it's been created, but don't know how to get back into text-editing mode. Let's have a look at how you can edit text in Procreate after its style properties have already been set.

This works only as long as the text box remains TEXT. I was baffled and frustrated why I clicked and clicked and looked everywhere but still couldn’t edit the text.
Well this seems to happen when Procreate changes the text into an image (it gets “rasterized”). For example I had some text boxes where the words had different sizes and colors, so rather than having to redo them individually I thought I’d simply format one and then copy and paste, simply changing the text but maintaining the formatting: can’t do it—the moment it gets pasted, it’s an image and you can no longer modify the text or formatting. Mine doesn’t have the “A” on the text layers. It has the text itself and it’s very annoying bc I can’t move or edit the text ._. Could someone pls help!?

Impossible to reselect created text. Didn't work. I think it's locked or something. Sucks that word processors are terrible at images and image editors are terrible at word processing.

Editing the Leading on multiple lines is very tricky to select, especially when the selection bars are similar in color to adjacent colors. I will continue to experiment using the clarity from this video and see if it answers all scenarios.

I added A by tapping N on layer thumbnail then tapped Add. Still couldn’t edit text

When i use the distort tool on the text I find I can no longer edit the words of the text.

How do i fix this???

Can you unmerge text from the back ground. I cannot edit my text any longer and chance the color. It colors the whole page.

If for some reason this didn’t work for you try this: Open the layer with the text. Then double tap the layer which brings up a menu from which choose edit text.

EDIT: Apologies. My Mistake! MAKE SURE IT's A LIVE TEXT LAYER (with a Letter A in the Layer thumbnail), then this works.
