First test was a partial success, the structure was a little wobbly and of poor print quality but i am fixing those both now so hopefully going to do some much taller print tests in the next few days work out any last kinks, and then make the new bigger, sturdier version which might actually be able to print something useful

I didn't know you could print upside down! So cool!

I saw the concept video just a few days ago describing this printer, and thought to myself the difficulties of manufacturing such. Well done! You've done a fantastic job! I cannot wait to see the creations you make with this printer.

Wow such a cool original design, I’ve never seen anything like this before. You should patent it and sell as a kit.

Consider rotating the XY 90 degrees and have the Z roll out the side, you will need 50% less support frame, and you will nail the wobble problem in one hit, great work by the way.

Very fascinating design, it's only a matter of time until this gains some serious traction

I wonder if some form of vertical stabilization after the gears to bring the column into square alignment would help... Awesome design nevertheless! Can't wait to see the first successful print inside the cage!

Very nice design! Your out of box thinking is really cool.
It's just me thinking here, but this would be perfect for dual extruder. I meen 2 independent extruder.

Absolutely incredible. If this works out, it could revolutionize compact home printers. No more would people have to shell out big cash for huge print areas on their printers. Instead, they'll just have to use some extra filament. I would definitely want one if I could afford it. Oh the things I would make.

This is a brilliant idea in that it be made at home without special order parts. While it uses a lot of filament to create support, it will print tall objects really well, which is something that a belt printer would struggle to do. (This could print a replica of a world famous tower, a belt printer can't do that.)

Based on the fact that this printer would be limited by the height of the room you are in, would you consider a frame with a belt pulling the build plate up? I know it wouldn't be infinite, but it would reduce waste and print time.

Great design !! What about layer adhesion? does all layer fuse togerher well? machine printing at -G and it can effect max strenght z axis i think, did you ever test it?

Cool concept, is this open to use or closed?

This is a really cool idea! I was wondering how much extra filament it takes to print the cage?

How do you support the first layer to start off?
