Witcher 3 Unseen Elder SECRET Purpose. In todays video I breakdown the Unseen Elder's Secret Purpose. This video includes vampires from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, The Witcher 3: Hearts of Stone and The Witcher 3: Blood and Wine.

The Witcher® 3: Wild Hunt is a story-driven, next-generation open world role-playing game, set in a visually stunning fantasy universe, full of meaningful choices and impactful consequences. You play as Geralt of Rivia, a monster hunter tasked with finding a child from an ancient prophecy.

Geralt of Rivia, is a witcher, or monster hunter for hire, a white-haired and cat-eyed legend in his own time. Trained from early childhood and mutated to gain superhuman skills, strength and reflexes, witchers like Geralt are a natural consequence of and counterbalance to the monster-infested world in which they live. As Geralt, you’ll embark on an epic journey in a war-ravaged world that will inevitably lead you to confront a foe darker than anything humanity has faced so far—the Wild Hunt.

Built exclusively for next-generation hardware, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt marks a new era in RPG visual quality. Raising the bar for the entire genre, with its deeply integrated 5.1 audio and jaw-dropping graphics powered by CD PROJEKT RED’s proprietary REDengine 3, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt promises an entirely new kind of experience.

He’s so terrifying purely because he has arguable the power to do anything he chooses & literally hides away from the world in a cave waiting for a scent of home… that is a truly scary mindset.

If memory serves me right he can summon other vampires, so I believe his most important purpose would be to summon all vampires to the cave when the portal reopens...

Slight correction: There are other elder vampires, but this is still the only one to remain in the opening cave at Toussaint. Therefore, it is possible the other clans had there own elder vampires and other elder vampires exist on the continent. However, if these vampires are active I find it incredibly surprising that no one in any witcher school or literature has ever mentioned them, despite being aware of every other vampire species. Which leads me to believe they either died out or hid in different locations. Despite this, I still believe this elder is particularly special and the leader for the reasons I stated in the above video! It's possible new information could be released one day to oppose this theory but I really believe this is the case for now.

I hope you all enjoyed the video! I post updates on here so I'd appreciate anyone following, also here's my second channel, there's a few new videos on there about the witcher!

Truly amazing character. Could destroy the world with ease, but just wants to go back home. Not evil, doesn't need to be - just utterly indifferent until disturbed. It's an incredible, perfectly eerie, disturbing character and it fits this story so, so well.

I suspect it's unlikely for a future witcher game to feature vampires this powerful in a casual way. They are far beyond the human level - even the best witcher level. Their purpose is to humble the most powerful protagonist - to make the player realize that despite how powerful they think they are, there is always something leagues above that could crush you like a bug.

Regis literally says in the game there are several unseen elders. He isn't the only one.

Something that bugs me about the Elder's inclusion in this game is you don't get to see him if you're aiming for the best story ending. Which is a shame because the entire section involving him is amazing and it should be a part of the story regardless of the direction you take.

According to the books (as far as I remember) the FIRST Monsters in the World of Geralt appear during the spherical Conjunction about 1, 500 years ago. The Witcher lore plays somewehre between the years 1200-1300 (time of Geralt). So, this means, that the first Monsters appeared around 300-200 BC in the Witcher. Elder Vampires are often portrayed as over or at least 1000 years old. Considering this fact, this Elder has to be among the first Monsters to "get created" in the Witcher Universe. That´s really impressive if you think about this.

Witcher 4 has got to be about a war with the Vampires. There is no way Nilfguaard can allow what happened in Blood and Wine to go unchallenged.

Do you think that the unseen elder would try to track down Ciri if he knew what she was? I’ve only played the Witcher three, so maybe I’m wrong. but can’t Ciri travel to other universities freely, and take people with her. Basically wouldn’t the unseen elder make her take him back to his home

Me at the beginning of the video while The Mandragora was playing:🕺🕺🕺

I was under the impression the Unseen Elder was there in case the portal to their world opens again, he's making sure to be there if it happens and making sure that no uninvited guests show up to their world. Also I think every tribe has an elder too.
Lastly, he's possibly there to make sure the vampire society doesn't fall into anarchy, he has the power to summon anyone and it's obvious he can kill anyone with ease, but I don't think he's an active ruler. We know the vampire society has a set of rules everyone follows and if not they get expelled, so the Unseen Elder is probably making sure those rules are followed by just being a really big menace to any vampire who dares to create problems.

Gaunter O Dim scares me more as he could be literally anywhere and he's even more powerful in how he can alter the world around him.

I have a more reasonable theory maybe he's a horn. Like a living breathing horn to call vampires because he was able to influence a vampire to show up at a particular location. Just by his sheer thought just by commanding him to go there. We seen that in The Witcher game in Blood and wine where one higher vampire was commanded directly by the unseen Elder to go to a particular location. He had no choice no say he was compelled to go there.

So I have a theory that as soon as the gate starts to open up slowly but surely the unseen Elder will compel vampires from all over the world to go to the gate he's a living breathing horn to sound all vampires to return home. Because the higher vampires and vampires in general keeps saying that their guest refugees and like all. Guest in a home they will leave because look at it this way the elves are leaving they're not they have no desire to stay in the world of The Witcher because his populated by humans and humans treat them like garbage. One Elf Kingdom has already left they're gone.

They don't have to worry about the wild Hunt anymore they don't have to worry about the winter coming to kill them. So yeah the elves are leaving this world and never coming back unless they have to.

Monsters are on a very slow decline to the point of almost being rare. Magic is still strong but eventually it will fade away too the Witcher world is changing very slowly.

Witchers can no longer be made and slowly their talents are being very rarely called for. Because armies have gotten strong enough dragons are slowly disappearing and hiding the world is changing and just like every great change the Vampires will leave. Because let's be honest vampires don't have that much to look forward to in this world sure the blood is one thing like an alcoholic drug but like all drugs it loses its splendor

On the question of, if and when the conjunction of the sphers will haben again, a good hint is the hidden vampire quest in Novigrad.
You know:

Vampire: "Is it 1485 yet"
Gerald: "No"
Vampire:"Then ffffuck off!"

Another thing about vampires in the Witcher is that they are deeply uncomfortable in the world of the Aen Seidhe. Like an annoying itch you can never scratch, or an ill-fitting suit you can never take off in an awkward gala that you can never leave. For a being as old and powerful as the Unseen Elder, that is simply not worth all the trouble. Besides his role as basically the alarm for the portal's opening, he both hates it here and misses his home deeply. That's why he's in that cave and not dominating the entire world. He would rather stay away from all the discomfort and bother of this blasted, forsaken new world than miss the small chance he has to going back home.

The point I find mostly the most intriguing about the Elder Vampire is his weird barbed shaped necklace with a clan effigy as pendant. Also his tattoos/scars are weird too. i don't know if CD Projekt thought for any particular meaning about these points but well... kinda intriguing though

My guess is he was chosen by other vampires from his home world, who voted for him to checkout the portal when it opened, unknowingly getting stuck in this world.
He obviously loved his home world so much he just told everyone else to bugger off and blamed everyone else for his predicament, like a ultra old and powerful man who just wants those darn kids to stay off his lawn.

This is by far the most scary thing I encountered in this game I died like 3 times just trying to answer his questions right

The Unseen Elder would be the kind of end boss required for a Ciri-led Witcher game. Just like what I think about Gaunter O’Dimm. Complete OP characters that simply could not be fought without an OP player character.

Gaunter O'dimm < Geralt, Geralt < Unseen Elder, and yet people think that Gaunter O'dimm would beat the Unseen Elder? That makes no sense. More than likely, The Unseen Elder knows magics that would allow him to resist time magic, have esoteric knowledge of creatures like Gaunter, and belong to the upper echelon of beings that can't be controlled.

Can ANYONE actually imagine the Unseen Elder being frozen in time by Gaunter O'dimm as he did to the other vampire? I certainly don't think so.

While I honestly hadn't even considered that he'd be the sole "ruler" of the vampires in the world of the Aen Seidhe it does seem plausible. One would assume there would be very few that are as old and powerful as him. As I see it the reason he stayed behind was 1: Because it was quiet and closer to home and he had no desire to explore this new world. 2: If he was the appointed ruler of all the tribes it would make the most sense for him to stay there. All the vampires will know that place as it is where they entered this new world. 3: In the end when (if) the portal reopens he will be there to safeguard and welcome back the other tribes as they return.

As for whether I believe the portal will reopen. Shortly no. At the same time if it happened once that proves its possibility and given enough time it would be bound to happen again. I say no however, because as I see it it just seems too far fetched. It happened once. How much time happened before that first time? We don't know. It could be tens of thousands of years, maybe more before another conjunction occured. For that reason I don't believe it will happen in a context of The Witcher. Additionally by the time it does happen again it seems unlikely that the Unseen Elder's cave would still be standing. By assuming the same law again: that with enough time anything that is possible will happen, it would be a certainty that humans would find this mysterious cave and as humans do they would dig into it. Find the Elder and die. Then more would come in increasingly greater numbers. Death on a whole new scale. In the end it seems likely the humans would come to the conclusion that collapsing the cave would be their only option.

Edit: Good video btw, George! (Forgot to say after writing that)
