I had no idea how elegant these cars were. Even the delicate details of the interior seating, how the chrome was applied, was out of this world.

My dad had this car in baby blue, but it was a super88 I was 8 years old at the time, I remember it well, it had power windows I

This is going to be a fantastic channel. This guy knows his cars, and this era is, in my opinion, the pinnacle of automotive design. This is truly going to be a Joy Ride!

I like to imagine pulling up to that house in that car late at night after having just spent an evening at the drive-in theater... The good old days....

I love JOYRIDE. Charles keeps his reviews short (too short, actually) but at least he doesn't stick his camera in the exhaust pipe and then tells the owners to rev the engine. I don't need to hear that because....I 😄 Charles, you are truly a piece of Americana. And no, you don't belong in a museum. For now. MORE! MORE!

I really love how you point out all of the little design details and the enthusiasm you convey. Looking forward to seeing many more cars that time forgot.
CHEERS!

I found your channel recently and it's a hoot !
It's also the BEST for getting the up close details in HD, , , no one does it better !
FYI, , the 60' Mercurys had headlights separated like the Olds, I think they were the only two that did that..

Dear Charles Phoenix, I don't know which one I liked best - the car or the fifties house! Probably both!
In 1959, I was only eight years old, but I already could distinguish most of the cars' year and brand.
At the time, I remember a neighbor living around the corner, who owned one 1959 brand-new olds (well, if 88 or 98 I was not aware) exactly alike, the same tone of seawater green.
He was a physician, with no hour to leave and return home after his patients.
As the car was so big and his garage so small, he soon gave up parking the car inside his garage, leaving it outside along the street night and day

Being born in 62, my first memory of a car was my folks’ 1960 Olds Dynamic 88, very much like this car. Miss that car

That color is so 1959! When I was a young boy that color reminded me of ice cream. Still does! My brother and I referred to Oldsmobile as an
"Olds-mo-bubble". Love the deep center steering wheel, the wrap around back window, the dashboard, the color! Beautiful job Chris, Congratulations!

This is MORE than a classic car! MORE than a mid century modern masterpiece! This is a world class national treasure!
If I was given the choice of a late fifties classic American car it would be between this and a 58 Plymouth. If I could only pick one I'm sure I would have sleepless nights trying to decide which one was coming home with me!
