Why is Space Black? Olbers' Paradox #astronomy #space #science
Показать описание
Why is the night sky dark despite the universe being filled with stars? This question has puzzled scientists including Johannes Kepler, Edmond Halley, and Wilhelm Olbers. The universe is not infinitely old, but around 13.8 billion years old. Therefore, we can only see light from stars that are within a distance that light could travel in 13.8 billion years. Any star farther than that hasn't had its light reach us yet making space appear black. This is known as Olbers' Paradox.
