Its crazy what you find in sewers. I do emergency water and sewer repair for Toronto. There was once a clog on the main and it was a 50lb ball of tampons and pads

I was a maintenance supervisor for 7 years then moved to a commercial hvac company I make a ton more money I don't deal with toilets, bathroom, ect.

How does the city react to an issue past the property line? Just in my country we aren't allowed to touch anything outside it or past the inlet of the water metre the council have to do it

Please install or get your mechanic to install kill switches or relays and kill switches to cut power to the fuel pump . Makes it hard to steal the trucks and vans if they wont run.

In Ontario Canada we have to ensure there are no gas lines in the sewer outside of the house.
Called cross bores, gas lines have inadvertently entered sewers from torpedoes.
Once the guy clearing my job told me he found a gas line in a storm sewer at an elementary school.
Scares the s#*t outta me lol.

Sewer van, it has a ring to it….and a smell. How bad is it on a hot day after running some drains.

My guess you guys wasted about 2 1/2 hours in about seven man hours wasted, why would you snake a drain that is not full of water (the front clean out ) and there was a camera man to record the confusion, all it was was a clog under the house, what should happen is a 2 way accessible clean out in front and next time u won’t have to pull toilet, good luck

Clogs outside the easement or right of way are on the city or municipality here in Illinois. But it sounds like some of the comments people have put in gas lines without daylighting existing utilities. I've been installing storm, water main and sanitary for a long time and I've definitely seen some crazy shit from careless bore rig/locater operators.
