Canadian tourists make up about 30-40% of the revenue for many businesses in Old Orchard Beach, Maine. This year, many are choosing to skip their regular getaway, given President Trump’s antagonistic rhetoric towards Canada. The owner of the Point of View Inn tells CNN’s Randi Kaye he’s had so many cancellations that his business may not survive. #CNN #News

I don’t want to travel and spend money in a country that insults and threatens annexation.

You know he's angry because he called Canada "nasty".
That's his special insult that he usually reserves for women.

I'm kind of confused here. If Americans show blatant nationalism, it's sold as patriotism. But when Canadians show actual patriotism, it's presented as nationalism. Is the education system in the US so terrible that reporters fail to see the distinction between the two?

Why bother visiting the US? Canada is better and safer too!

I'm from the UK and I've cancelled a trip to Orlando because I have no wish to visit a fascist state.

This isn't a joke to us. We're not overreacting. We don't think he's just saying this shit to cause chaos or negotiate a deal. We wholeheartedly believe that our closest ally and friend is about to bring violence across our border, economically destroy us, and eliminate our way of life.

American here. Retired military. Worked with Canadian armed forces. They’ve been right beside us during multiple conflicts. Remember how their diplomats protected some of ours during the Iranian hostage crisis.
If you’ll have us, we’re thinking it’s our patriotic duty to take our next vacation in Canada and spend some money up there, do what little we can.

I reside (in Buffalo, NY) directly across from Fort Erie, Ontario. I can literally see Canada from my windows. I can't blame Canada at all. I am fully in support of the boycott. Unfortunately, it affects those of us that fought for the country and voted against the saffron satan. I have nothing but respect for my northern neighbors. I stand with them as so many Americans do. ❤

Someone who cheated on all 3 of his wives shouldn't call anyone else nasty.

If Trump calls you nasty, you’re doing something right.

Saying the anger is justified is the smartest thing the owner could do. He understands his customers.

We Canadians are generally polite, but our politeness should never be mistaken for weakness!

We Europeans are watching this drama going on because of that clown in the White House. We will always support Canada.

American here. I support Canada and I’m planning our next family vacation there. Can’t wait to spend a few weeks visiting a functioning democracy.
