The fact that companies are trying to lie their way out of SBI involvement shows that the curator is working and it is a godsend. Not only that, but SBI operates on threatening developers with cancel culture if they don't buy SBI's services, and developers just comply even if they don't want wokeness in their games fearing backlash. However, the curator gives them an out, and they can simply point to it objectively as a reason why they don't want SBI or any DEI consultation group that threaten their services at a developer.

The curator list isn't a boycott list in and of itself, it's more of a consumer awareness list, like Denuvo Detected. Calling it a boycott list will get it removed from Steam earlier than otherwise, I suspect. I imagine there will soon be some new content rule that will make SBI-Detected against the rules, despite it being no different than the aforementioned Denuvo Detected. IMO.
