The sheer resistance YouTube have to rolling out Shorts features to desktop is just obnoxious at this point. I work across multiple channels exclusively on desktop and have never needed a smartphone for any YouTube production work in the 12+ years I've been making videos; the idea that I need to introduce a new device to my workflow for such a small, but important, feature is absurd.

I agree with you 100%! I'm 50 years old and cannot be bothered faffing around and fat fingering stuff on my phone, it's just too awkward. I want a full keyboard so I can type fast and properly see what I am doing...

To update the shorts thumbnail you need to do it strait from the YouTube app does not work in studio it worked for me updated all my thumbnails. Old videos began to get traction I think it's a great update!

I started to upload my Shorts from my computer recently because it allows you to upload them in 4K, but yea, downfall you can’t pic your thumbnail. You’re at the mercy of YouTube to pick something good. It’s hit or miss. I really just wish they would allow you to pick what you want from whichever device you’re uploading from. Seems like a pretty easy fix. 🤷‍♂️

So I uploaded a short today, The trick of putting your thumbnail at the end of the video and using the frame on the mobile, then trimming the video in the editor no longer works. Youtube has changed it so you can't trim shorts in studio anymore.

For a company that wants to compete with reels and TikTok, it makes no sense to not allow fully custom thumbnails when IG had it from almost the very beginning.

I have somewhat larger clunky fingers, I hate that everything wants to be done on a tinny little cell phone touch screen. I have a perfectly good PC with 3 very large monitors and a key board and mouse. I hate with a passion everything and any thing wants to be done on a 4" cell phone touch screen.

When You first announced that we could upload shorts, (how many years ago?), I started uploading them that very day! We were able to upload custom shorts back then and the best part is that those older shorts are still getting views! Amazing!

I may be the minority here but you should NOT be able to upload your own custom thumbnail. It should come directly from the short. I’m so sick of misleading thumbnails on Instagram. YouTubers would definitely make clickbait thumbnails

1:43 the frame exactly matches my logo if u were to sit on a floor. The logo on my channel was designed by one of my friends for free and i kinda love it
