He also put in some plugs for his grill, thinking about life after boxing and how to keep his youth center open. George Foreman is as honorable a man as you can find! I'm still not sure Briggs did enough to win that fight but George knew when to hang them up. He took too many punches in that brawl .

The HBO judge had Foreman winning 8 rounds to 4. Not even close. Jim Lampley and Larry Merchant both said that Foreman clearly won the fight. This decision was a travesty of justice. I can certainly understand why some people stop watching boxing after seeing something like this. The official judges should have been banned from the sport for life.

You had to respect how gracious Foreman was with the decision loss, he should have won but he didn't dispute the judges decision too much and knew it was the young man's time to make something for himself

This was an elimination bout for a title shot at Lennox Lewis' WBC belt. After George had so haphazardly dropped his unified belts after beating Moorer, I can't help but think the judges and sanctioning bodies weren't too keen on George possibly getting another title back around his waist, leading to this farcical decision. (George appealed the decision with the WBC in hopes of getting the fight with Lewis but he was turned down and Lennox fought Briggs instead.)

I am not sure George Foreman lost that fight against Shannon Briggs but rather foreman laid many punches against his opponent. But rather it was time that defeated foreman. His time was up and he knew it then to hang the gloves up.
